Webinar Speakers
Ulrich Wiedner
Prof. Dr. @Ruhr University Bochum
Dr. Ulrich Wiedner has been a professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Bochum since 2006. He conducts basic research on the topic of interaction, which is responsible for the diversity of the particle spectrum of the subatomic world. Prof. Wiedner is currently the spokesman for the international PANDA Collaboration on Antiproton Physics at the GSI. He also participates in the BES experiment on the study of harmonium decay and is the spokesman for the Crystal Barrel Collaboration at CERN. His commitment to various projects is also reflected in his participation in WASA Celsius and the COMPASS experiment at CERN and many other projects.
Mārcis Auziņš
Prof. Dr. @University of Latvia
Dr. Mārcis Auziņš is a Professor and Head of the Chair of Experimental Physics at the University of Latvia. From 2007 till 2015 he served as the rector of the University of Latvia. His main professional interests lie in the field of quantum physics. Prof. Auziņš has co-authored more than a hundred research papers. He also is a co-author of two monographs published at "Cambridge University Press" and "Oxford University Press". During his academic career, he has worked in many countries – China, Taiwan, the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Israel, and Germany.
Stefan Groote
Dr. @University of Tartu
Dr. Stefan Groote studied physics at the Technical University of Dortmund. He worked on his PhD thesis at the Institute of Physics of the University of Mainz and earned the doctoral degree in 1994. Afterward, he was a postdoc at the Cornell University, New York. Dr. Groote finished the habilitation at the University of Mainz in 2003. Since 2004 he worked as a senior researcher at the University of Tartu in the field of theoretical high-energy physics, but since 2021 he is an assistant professor.

(Larry) Cooke, Chief Technology Officer for NovaSolix, a California-based solar panel manufacturer, discussed a way to make what are essentially radio waves into efficient, inexpensive solar power. His biography includes this indicator of a productive life. “Larry “Cooke has written one book, multiple papers and have over 100 granted US patents. Cooke is currently CTO and Chairman of NovaSolix, a revolutionary Carbon Nanotube Rectenna array based solar cell start-up.” NovaSolix separates its approach to capturing solar energy from the “traditional” solar cell, solar panel method. “The Old Way” Thoughtco.com says, “Any device that directly converts the energy in light into electrical energy through the process of photovoltaics is a solar cell.” Such devices have a longer history than your ...
